Beetle Games in full swing

Coomera Valley Probus Club

Fun and Games in the Valley. At Coomera Valley, we occasionally replace our guest speaker with a game’s session.

Our most popular activity is the “Beetle Game,” which requires quickly rearranging the room into tables of six (after our general meeting). The aim is for each player to complete their beetle first.

Method of Play

Each player receives a sheet with blank squares. A die is rolled to determine beetle parts:

1 – Body

2 – Head

3 – Antennae

4 – Eye

5 – Mouth

6 – Leg

Players roll once; the highest roll starts.

A body (1) must be rolled first, followed by a head (2). Only after these can other parts – legs, eyes, antennae and mouth – be added in any order.

A complete beetle has 1 body, 1 head, 2 eyes, 2 antennae, 1 mouth, and 6 legs. All hand drawn by the player in the appropriate blank square.

The first player to complete a beetle wins the round and moves to the next vacant table.

Various methods of scoring can be implemented to arrive at an overall winner who is presented with a reward.

Before play begins, the Committee serves a light lunch of soup and slices.
