Ormeau Probus Club's Management Committee

Ormeau Probus Club

We have a new Probus Club of Ormeau, formed on Monday 4th August with 30 members. The Probus Club of Ormeau is the first new Probus Club to be sponsored by another Probus Club in the whole of Australia.

There were 65 people who registered an interest in the new Probus Club of Ormeau, most responding to the Probus South Pacific Limited Facebook promotion. The Probus Club of Ormeau was sponsored jointly by the Rotary Club of Ormeau Pimpama and the Pimpama Probus club which provided the morning tea.

Rowen Holzberger MP, the new Member for Forde, welcomed attendees and commented on the need for social interaction among people retired or no longer working full time and offered his support for the new club. Cameron Caldwell MP, Member for Fadden, spoke about the benefits of belonging to Probus and his support of several Probus clubs in his electorate and welcomed the new club’s formation.

Probus South Pacific Director, Judith Maestracci AM, who represents all Probus Clubs in Queensland, Nicholas Erby, from Kingscliff Probus Club, who represents Probus Clubs in NSW and ACT and Queensland Director Elect, Caroline Nelson, were in attendance and each of the directors circulated among attendees ensuring the good outcome. The President of the Rotary Club of Ormeau Pimpama, Russell Mowles, presented a President's Collar and added some words of congratulations and he was joined then by the President of Pimpama Probus Club, Kaye Koch.

Congratulations and thanks to the elected Management Committee with President, Laurie Baker, Secretary, Linda Baker, and Treasurer, Margaret Thomson taking the reins for the leadership team.
