Garden City Toowoomba Probus Club Car Treasure Hunt
Garden City Toowoomba Probus Club ventured out on a Car Treasure Hunt into the north-western area of the Darling Downs on a cool morning in August.
Starting from the Rose Cottage in Newtown, the drivers and navigators ventured out through Biddeston to Aubigny then on to Oakey for morning tea at Lions Park. After morning tea, the convoy headed through Oakey out to Kulpi were everyone enjoyed a bit of socialising and lunch at the Pioneer Hotel Kulpi.
Accuracy in answering the questions posed along the route was more important than speed. Questions ranged from golf course par details to country church service times to historical dates to Kulpi locations. Once all activities and frivolities were completed some adventurous members returned home via Haden, Goombungee and on to Toowoomba. First place was awarded to Carolyn and Matt along with Sally and Wayne as joint leaders. Peter and Barbara Middleton were given third place for travelling the most kilometres.
An enjoyable day was had by all; Kulpi Hotel hospitality was beyond expectations and everyone is looking forward to more car treasure hunts in the future. Thanks to Peter and Maria for organising the day.
