The first Association in Queensland was formed in November 1992 under the banner of the Probus Association of Brisbane & Districts, however at the first meeting of Delegates on 23rd April 1993, the name was changed to the Probus Association of Queensland Inc.
PAQ is administered by a management committee of elected volunteer Probians, and was formed to help, advise, assist and coordinate activities between Probians and Probus clubs, without, in any way, infringing on their autonomy.

“To advance Probus as a worthwhile community organisation for retired and semi-retired people by sharing ideas and information, coordinating multi club opportunities for friendship, fellowship and social interaction, the organisation of events and activities for members.”

The intention of this website is to give the viewer an insight into the purpose, functions and activities of Probus and PAQ.
The site is divided into two sections:
A public domain which provides general information about PAQ and its activities.
A member area which requires a log in. It provides information about Clubs, Club administration and forms. It also includes information about the various Regions, plus available speakers, and much more.

The first issue of the PROBIAN was in February 1993, and was in the form of a newsletter, however it soon developed into a full colour quarterly magazine. Since its inception it has been provided free to members of affiliated clubs.
