On 23rd February 2026 an interest meeting was held in Boonah with the prospect of forming a new Probus Club, and the Probus Club of Beaudesert offered to be the sponsor and support the club by mentoring the new management committee members.

Those in attendance on the day agreed to form the club with Secretary, Sheila, serving a dual role as Interim President an accreditation was approved by Probus South Pacific Ltd. At the Foundation meeting on 23rd March, Peter Murray was elected as Foundation President and several more were inducted as Foundation members making a total of sixteen Foundation members. Although the venue itself was excellent, there was very limited parking and this we believe was part of the difficulty in attracting more members. The Management Committee sourced a new venue at the Boonah Tavern, and their first general meeting was held on the 27th April when Foundation members were presented with their Foundation member badges, and three new members were inducted. Two more filled in application forms at the end of the meetings so the future looks good for this new Queensland Probus Club. One of the attractions of meeting at the Boonah Tavern was also a country pub lunch after and most of the members stayed to enjoy lunch together following the Probus tradition of Fellowship, Friendship, Fun & Food!
