Double Celebration for Carindale Probus Club - Probus Celebrates 30 years in Carindale and 50 years in Australia

February 2026 marked a significant milestone for Probus in Australia, celebrating 50 years of bringing retired people together through local clubs built on friendship, connection and shared interests.

February 2026 also marks another significant milestone, 30 years of Probus in Carindale. On Thursday, 8 February 1996, 73 people turned up to the very first General Meeting of the Carindale Probus Club. A Club where people could connect, share stories, support one another, and of course, have fun. The Club has never looked back and maintains a membership of over 100 people. A special 30th anniversary lunch was held in the Wade Core Function Centre, Carina Leagues Club, where representatives of all levels of government and 80 current members and visitors joined with four founding members, to honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to an even brighter future. A great day was had by all!

Whether it’s day trips, guest speakers, theatre, lunches, dinners, or simply catching up over coffee, the enthusiasm of the members keeps the Carindale Probus Club alive and thriving. The Club has been going through a period of renewal with just under 50% of Club members joining in the past five years.
